THE CLIENT

A Miami-based travel and hospitality company with over $9.4 billion in annual revenue needed to migrate approximately 260 business-critical SAP Data Services jobs before the platform’s scheduled decommissioning, replacing legacy pipelines with a scalable, cloud-native integration architecture.

THE FOUNDATION

The organization operated approximately 260 SAP DS jobs covering resource planning, finance management, marketing, reservations, and casino operations across PeopleSoft, FMS, and custom source systems. These jobs encoded critical business transformation logic but were built on a high-maintenance, limited-scalability platform approaching end of life.

THE CONSTRAINT

Legacy SAP DS pipelines required high manual maintenance, lacked automation, and were difficult to scale. The platform’s decommissioning timeline created urgency, while complex job dependencies and transformation logic made migration technically demanding. Technical debt in the existing framework limited the organization’s ability to adopt modern analytics tooling.

THE MULTIPLIER

Logic Pursuits inventoried all approximately 260 SAP DS jobs, mapped lineage, dependencies, and transformation logic, executed an incremental domain-based migration using dbt for data engineering jobs and Matillion for data integration jobs, re-factored and parameterized transformations to preserve business logic while modernizing the architecture, and organized jobs across five migration groups based on complexity and modularity to streamline build and testing.

WHAT CHANGED

The organization moved from a fragile, high-cost legacy integration platform to a cloud-native, automated data pipeline environment built on Snowflake, dbt, and Matillion. Processing speed, scalability, and regulatory compliance all improved, and the reliance on SAP DS licensing was fully eliminated.
