THE CLIENT
A California-based consumer packaged goods company with approximately $400 million in annual revenue needed to replace a manual journal entry and trial balance reconciliation process that was creating audit risk and delaying financial close cycles.
THE FOUNDATION
The organization-maintained journal entry and trial balance data in NetSuite, with financial reporting dependent on periodic extracts and manual comparison workflows. Core financial records were available but lacked a centralized reconciliation mechanism.
THE CONSTRAINT
Reconciliation relied on manual Journal Entry (JE) to Trial Balance (TB) comparisons that were error-prone at volume. Unmapped or misclassified Chart of Accounts (COA) entries caused incorrect financial rollups, and there was no centralized mechanism to validate JE completeness, TB accuracy, or COA mapping integrity ahead of audit cycles.
THE MULTIPLIER
Logic Pursuits integrated NetSuite JE and TB data into Snowflake with standardized staging and transformation layers, applied COA mapping and balance normalization controls, implemented rule-based automated checks for completeness, debit-credit validation, JE-TB matching, and balance recalculation, and delivered structured variance and exception reports for audit use.
WHAT CHANGED
The organization moved from manual reconciliation to automated, population-level validation. Audit preparation cycles were shortened, financial accuracy improved, and the team gained a repeatable compliance model that reduced the risk of material misstatements.
